5 Stars (April 2015) Rothaker (Everett Book 2) by Jenifer Ruff http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Ddigital-text&field-keywords=rothaker%20by%20jenifer%20ruff Brook is an exceptional woman-she’s beautiful, intelligent, a hard working student and employee and she’s twisted. Brook has now entered medical school, where she plans on pursuing her degree to become a surgeon. Although she’s generally anti-social, she makes a few friends and she meets a man (another student) and falls for him. However Brook is also determined to be the absolute best at everything and anyone who dares to get in her way…well, obstacles need to be removed. I was little overwhelmed by some of the descriptions as they seemed overdone and although they eventually tied into the story, they could have been pared down a bit. I felt the ending was a bit blunt, but I also appreciated the reasons for this, it’s a series and there is more of Brook to come, the author does a great job of leaving the reader wanting more. I was given this book first and was so enthralled that I immediately purchased book 1. Rothaker is book 2 in this series, it’s a great stand-alone novel, but I would recommend picking up Everett (book 1) first. This book was provided to me for free for an honest and unbiased review
