Morals of TWD!

There’s been a lot of debate on the morals of the show. For instance, Shane sacrificing Otis, Lori’s abortion attempt, and Rick’s leadership skills or his decision to kill those two guys from the bar in the last episode, Nebraska.

The Shows Morals – I would just like to say that I don’t think the show is about morals. It’s about surviving. In a world run by the dead, morals go right out the window. And that’s a sad thing to say but it’s true. I don’t like the idea of humans killing each other. I find it EXTREMELY annoying especially when the ratio of zombie to human is staggering, but it’s kill or be killed. The fat guy made a comment about if they had any women back at their camp. That was a red flag. It was quite obvious to Rick at that point that these guys were bad news and clearly all the other survivors they were with are all male. Then the fat guy proceeded to piss on the floor of the bar when there was good booze present. I would have shot him for that reason alone. Then the other douche challenged Rick by grabbing for his gun. I wish that they could have worked things out but unfortunately those guys were morons and Rick didn’t really have a choice, so i don’t blame Rick, I blame them for losing sight of who the enemy really is…That was no doubt the best scene in this episode. It should have ended with a close up shot of our beloved sheriff looking down on the fat guy saying, “I’m, Rick Grimes bitch.”

Shane and Otis – There is no way that both Shane and Otis could make it out alive and they both knew it. It came down to who wanted to live more. Who would be the one to pull the trigger and although I’m not a huge Shane fan I think he made the right choice for that moment. Me? I probably would have shot the poor guy in the head or something…

With all that being said, the show wouldn’t be the same without Rick or Shane. Rick is like the moral compass, he makes the tough decisions that no one else wants to make and kicks butt when kicking butt is needed. I didn’t see anyone else stepping up to the plate when poor Sophia is revealed to be a zombie. Everyone else just stared at her in shock…but Rick, he walked past them all in a I-got-this-attitude and put a bullet in little Sophia’s head. And Shane is the bad seed. The hot head. Shoot first, ask questions later and don’t give me crap about it kind of guy or he’ll probably shoot you too…both are needed…if anyone in this series needs to die I recommend T.dog…this guy is utterly useless in every sense of the word.
