I find that I am more relaxed at night time. My house is a zoo - loud and chaotic. At night, when everyone is down for the night, I like to lay in bed for a few minutes thinking about my story and the characters and dialogue, then I'm off to the computer to let my fingers dance across my key board. The key to a great story is to find the best time for you to write. Some people prefer a quiet place (like me) others might like it noisy (to each his own), either way figure out when the ideas flow better for you and stick to that schedule. If writer's block is something that you suffer(yes, it feels like you're actually suffering) from, take a break and pick up a good book and start reading.
